The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Beijing Jishuitan Hospital started in 1956. In the past 60 years, it has brought up lots of good obstetricians and gynecologists. It’s a department made up of more than 60 doctors and nurses with all-round medical experiences, 10 of which are senior title holders, 8 with mid level certificate, 7 are MD/PhD. Lots of our medical staff have the experience of advanced study overseas or in the domestic national key departments. Our department is divided into the Division of Gynecology, the Division of Obstetrics, the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. we have a strong team of experienced doctors in dealing with obstetric and gynecologic conditions. We offer a full and comprehensive range of obstetrics and gynecology healthcare.

Beijing Jishuitan Hospital is also a teaching hospital of Peking University Health Science Center, the OB & GYN department also takes some of the teaching tasks for the medical students.

The Division of Gynecology: Medical Gynecology, Gynecologic oncology and urogynecology (Pelvic reconstructive surgery). Minimally invasive procedures take up to 80% of all the operations.

Medical Gynecology: our specialists provide individualized and compassionate care for a range of gynecological problems, such as: Endometriosis, dysfunction uterine bleeding, uterine fibroid, ovarian cyst, ectopic pregnancy, vulvar diseases, female genital tract injury and malformation, Vaginitis, pelvic inflammation disease, cervical lesions. We started the laparoscopic and hysteroscopic operations early in the 1990s, had completed nearly 10000 such operations. We also do all kinds of transvaginal procedures, such as TVH, TVM, TVC and so on. We also carry out some advanced procedures including colposcopy, LEEP, TCRA, ultrasonic interventional therapy, uterine artery embolization.

Urogynecology (Pelvic reconstructive surgery): We deal with Female Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, for example uterine prolapsed, anterior/posterior vaginal prolapse, stress urinary incontinence(SUI), old laceration of perineum. With the development of urogynecology, we keep developing our operation skills, inducing the procedure of anterior and posterior vaginal wall repair with patch, uterosacral ligament suspension, TVT、TVT-O and so on. We will provide standardized, personalized, affordable, effective and minimal invasive treatment to women of all ages.

Gynecologic oncology: With the increasing happening of the gynecological malignant tumor, we have been keeping the pace with the latest diagnosis and treatment methods of these dieases, including cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, ovarian cancer, trophoblastic cell diseases and so on. We have successfully completed several staging laparoscopic surgeries for endometrial cancer and cervical cancer. Now, with the using of 3D laparoscopic surgery system, we can do these operation more precisely and safer. As Beijing Jishuitan Hospital is a comprehensive tertiary medical center, we can offer more suitable and individualized therapy to these malignant tumor patients.

the Division of Obstetrics: We are “Baby Friendly Hospital ” . We deliver more than 2000 babies each year. We offer personalized care before, during and after pregnancy. Nurse midwives and obstetricians provide periodic comprehensive examinations and childbirth preparation classes. For 30 years, we have no perinatal mortality case. We have been recognized as the rescue center for the critically ill pregnant women of Changping District since last year. We also provide prenatal diagnosis.

the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility:

Family planning: We provide artificial abortion operation, IUD planting and displanting operation, diagnostic curettage under analgesia. We also have plenty of experiences in medicative abortion and induction of labour in second trimester.

The Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Clinics: manages problems related to infertility, including fibroid tumors, recurrent pregnancy loss, endometriosis, abnormal uterine bleeding, hyperprolactinemia and risk of genetic disorders in offspring. We also carry out the laparoscopic and hysteroscopic operations for a comprehensive assessment and treatment of infertility, which is effective.

Wards: the wards of the department of OB & GYN are set in the Huilongguan part of the hospital now, with 70 beds, 1-3beds per room, which can offer the inpatients a good environment.

Medical staff: There are 69 doctors and nurses in all, including 27 doctors and 42 nurses (midwives included). About our doctor team, there are 1 chief physician, 9 associate chief physician, 8 attending, 11 residents. In our nurse team, there are 9 chief nurse and 15 midwives.
